With the change, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th will be the newanchor and introduce a 28,000-sf prototype store design. Theproject also includes the renovation of the center's existinginterior and exterior spaces, along with an updated 400-seat foodcourt. The new space will be built in front of the existing space,with construction of the new Saks store in front of that space.

Karen Fluharty, Prime Retail senior vice president of marketing,tells GlobeSt.com that the project was undertaken due to Saks FifthAvenue's interest in opening a store at the center and the strengthof the St. Augustine market. "We believe in the St. Augustinemarket," Fluharty says. "This center serves St. Augustine andJacksonville, which we see as growth markets."

The expanded center is expected to open in November. Among newretailers coming to the center are Lucky Brand Jeans, Ann TaylorLoft and Juicy Couture. Guess Factory Store and BCBGMAXAZRIAFactory Store will open larger stores as part of therenovation.
