The new Publix, which is being constructed by Moss &Associates of Fort Lauderdale, will be part of the mixed-use MaryBrickell Village in the Brickell Avenue corridor. The developmentalso includes condominiums to be built over the four-story MaryBrickell dining, shopping and entertainment complex at South Miamiand Tenth avenues.

To maximize retail floor space, the store's first floor willfeature the customer sales and food preparation areas and thesecond floor/mezzanine will feature administrative offices, breakrooms and mechanical equipment. Two floors of parking will belocated above the store, which customers can access by serviceelevators. The store's mechanical equipment for refrigeration willbe installed in the parking area.

Moss & Associates has worked on the other Publix projects inthe area, including a similar two-story supermarket in western FortLauderdale, and stores in Miami Lakes, North Miami and PompanoBeach. Two other stores are in the final planning stages, includingone on Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach and another on Coral Wayin Miami.
