Rose and Jonathan Goldman, a VP with MB's corporate servicesteam, represented Amcol in the transactions. The buildingreportedly sold for nearly $33.6 million. Amcol acquired the 7-acreland parcel and began having the building constructed, she says.Amcol then sold the building to a REIT and will lease back thespace, Rose tells GlobeSt.com. CRIC Capital, a joint venturebetween Prudential Real Estate Investors and Boston-based CorporateRealty Investment Co. LLC, is reportedly the buyer.

The two-story building, which is under construction at thesouthwest corner of Forbs Avenue and Higgins Road, will house thenew international headquarters for the company and a wet labfacility, Rose says. Amcol is expected to move into the building inQ4. The building will look onto a natural wetland area.

Amcol currently leases approximately 65,000 sf of office at 1500W. Shure Dr. in Arlington Heights, IL, and leases approximately25,000 sf of space about a block away for a wet lab facility, Rosetells GlobeSt.com. "They are consolidating corporate office spaceand wet lab facilities into a more efficient and productivelocation," she says. Gensler is the architecture, design, planningand consulting firm that is working with Amcol on the design of thebuilding and the site. The building will have a green roof andother features to conserve energy and water. "It is going to be avery eco-friendly building," Rose says.
