The 96-unit dormitory, with 276 beds, will go up at the cornerof Louis J. Rodriguez Drive and Midwestern Parkway. "This will be avery nice improvement to the campus. Midwestern is a very heavilytraveled street," says Jack Seay, senior development manager forthe Irving, TX-based niche company.

Brad Parker, Collegiate's development manager, says thethree-story building, with two- and four-bedroom units, will takeone year to build. Dallas-based Hensley Lamkin Rachel Inc. ofDallas is the architect; with Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers,also from Dallas, as the civil engineer.

The university's newest on-campus dorm, which has yet to benamed, will be a C-shaped design with a courtyard that connects toa new recreation center. In the coming weeks, Collegiate's crewwill raze a single-story athletic department building to make wayfor the new dorm.
