MIAMI-Longtime commercial veteran Don Cartwright has resigned assenior vice president of DTZ Rockwood's Miami office to joinCushman & Wakefield of Florida as director of leasing for thefirm's client solutions practice. He has been appointed to leadleasing and marketing initiatives for the 1.1 million-sf WachoviaFinancial Center in Downtown Miami, the largest class A officetower in Florida.

"I have leased a number of prestigious towers in the Miamimarket and there's none more prestigious in the state of Floridathan Wachovia Financial Center," Cartwright tells GlobeSt.com. "Themarket in Downtown Miami, which includes Brickell Avenue, isexperiencing the highest occupancy in history. There is quite a bitof product being delivered, so one of the missions I want toaccomplish is to continue to keep Wachovia Financial Center at theforefront."

Tere Blanca, senior managing director of Cushman &Wakefield's Miami office, says bringing on Cartwright is part ofthe firm's landlord representation expansion. The clientssolutions' office, industrial and retail portfolio has more thandoubled over the last four years, to almost 10 million sf.

Tim Prunka, who currently spearheads leasing for the99%-occupied landmark building at 200 Biscayne Boulevard, isresigning from Cushman & Wakefield as of June 1. Prunka citedspending more time with his family as the reason, according to thebrokerage.

Cartwright says that he could not pass up the opportunity to getback into project and agency leasing, which has been hisprofessional specialty over the past 25 years, after his time withreal estate investment banking firm DTZ. Prior to his position withDTZ, Cartwright was a principal with the Trammell Crow Co. in SouthFlorida and senior vice president and regional leasing director forFlorida with Jones Lang LaSalle.
