The new location will complement Nordstrom's full-line store atThe Westchester mall in White Plains. The only other Nordstrom Racklocation in New York State is at the Mall at the Source inHempstead on Long Island.

The $350-million City Center, a residential-retail-entertainmentcomplex, totals 1.1 million sf and was opened in Oct. 2003. Thecomplex, developed and owned by Cappelli Enterprises of Valhalla,NY, features 400,000 sf of retail, which includes Barnes &Noble, Circuit City, Filene's Basement, Target and New York SportsClub.

Across the Tappan Zee Bridge in Rockland County, HomeGoods hassigned a 25,077-sf lease at the 263,927-sf Rockland Center on Route59 in Nanuet. Metro Commercial Real Estate Inc.'s Ira Kerner andJeff Lagowitz represented the property owner American ContinentalProperties of New York City in the deal. Bill Hesse of Aries Deitch& Endelson Inc. of Hartsdale represented HomeGoods in thetransaction. Metro Commercial's Kerner says HomeGoods is expectedto move into the former Office Depot box space by sometime thissummer. Office Depot vacated that space but moved to anotherlocation at the Rockland Center complex. HomeGood's lease has a10-year term with some renewal options.

"HomeGoods will be a welcome addition to Nanuet and the RocklandCenter," Kerner says. "We expect them to do very well here."HomeGoods will join other major tenants: AC Moore, PetSmart, OfficeDepot and Pathmark at the property. There is currently 18,000 sfavailable for lease, including more than 7,000 sf at the formerOffice Depot box space that will now be home to HomeGoods.
