Thompson National Properties,

After co-founding Triple Net Properties, Maurer was executive vice president and chief financial officer until December 2001, when he was named executive vice president of sales and marketing. In addition, Maurer was president and CEO of T REIT Inc. from August 2004 to July 2007.

T REIT, advised and managed by Triple Net Properties, was formed in 1998 to invest in office, retail, industrial and service properties in states that do not have state income taxes. The premise behind investing in these states was that economic growth would be greater there, and that has turned out to be true, Maurer noted in an interview with GlobeSt.com last year. T REIT was a nontraded REIT, so-called because the stock of nontraded REITs does not trade publicly but is owned by shareholders, who must meet certain qualifications to own the shares.

Maurer also held the position of executive vice president and chief financial officer of NNN Capital Corp., now Grubb & Ellis Securities Inc., from September 1998 until November 2007. The new firm he is joining, Thompson National Properties, specializes in value-added investments and asset management for high-net-worth domestic, foreign and institutional investors. Thompson National plans to acquire commercial properties, real estate loans and operating companies in a variety of geographic markets, generally holding the assets for one to five years.
