Carson has acquired five industrial buildings, with nearly 1.1million sf, in the Houston area since buying its first property at250 PortwallSt. in October 2006 and beginning the site work to add twodistribution centers at 221 and 225 Portwall St. Daniel Zoch,managing director in for the Newport Beach, CA-based Carson Cos.,says the goal by yearend is to acquire or under construction on twomillion sf of modern distribution buildings in Greater Houston. Hesays there could be more buildings added to the PortwallDistribution Center, depending on how land deals come together inthe coming months.

The new distribution centers will be dock-high designs, with30-foot clear heights and 180-foot truck courts. One building willmeasure 239,210 sf and the other will be 162,178 sf, but Zoch saysboth are geared for companies requiring modern warehousing anddistribution operations. Completion is scheduled for November.
