Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo will relocate its headquarters to the new building when it is completed in the spring of 2009. Thomas G. Irish, president of TDC, notes that the development site is the last major undeveloped office parcel in Cerritos Towne Center. With the development of the new building, TDC will be completing a project that began 20 years ago.
Irish comments that Transpacific, "set out to make Cerritos Towne Center the premier business location in the Mid-Counties market, and with this building we have finally completed that goal." The 12800 Center Court Dr. project will be the seventh office building developed by TDC in Cerritos Towne Center.
Irish says that TDC had been working on various plans for the site over the past fewyears, but securing Atkinson, Andelson as the anchor tenant allowed TDC to design abuilding that would focus on the law firm's needs. The firm will initially be leasing64,600 sf, consisting of the entire second, third and fourth floors of the building, with expansion rights for the remaining space.
Steve Atkinson, founding partner of Atkinson, Andelson, notes that the firm's offices have been in Cerritos Towne Center for nearly 10 years, "and we have a strong desire to remain here." Atkinson, Andelson has expanded significantly during that time, and signing for space in the new building enables the law firm to plan its new headquarters from the ground up, Atkinson points out. Other advantages of remaining in Cerritos Towne Center include its restaurants, retail, hotel and the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, Atkinson says.
The new building was designed by John Spohrer of Archisystems International of Brentwood, CA, with Millie and Severson of Los Alamitos, CA as the general contractor. Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo was represented byWilliam Hugron of Ashwill Associates in the lease, with TDC represented by Rick Warner and Andy White of CB Richard Ellis Inc., along with Alan Pyenson of TDC. CB Richard Ellis will market the remaining space in the building for lease.
