Carranza earned a first-place honor in the category of "BestTrade Magazine Report—for the Commercial Real Estate Industry." Theaward-winning article, "Consolidation Frenzy: The ShrinkingUniverse of Property Firms," appeared in the January 2007 issue ofReal Estate Forum.
"This detailed examination of increased M&A activity amongproperty firms provided a comprehensive look at the recent flurryof activities. The in-depth report covered private buyers, frequentrent growth, and the risk of integration going far beyond thenormal stories about the activities themselves," the judgeswrote.
Carranza's article also took second place for the James D.Carper Award for "Best Entry by a Young Journalist." She joinedReal Estate Media in 2001, becoming managing editor in 2005.
