Located at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Peyton Drive, the Shoppes at Chino Hills was designed by retail architect Altoon + Porter as part of a new, 750,000-sf master-planned project that will include civic, office, retail, restaurant and residential uses. The 50-acre development site is expected to create a new downtown for the City of Chino Hills, notes Jeff Hill, vice president at Opus West Corp.

The signing of the new retail tenants follows the recent signing of the new headquarters lease by Jacuzzi Brands Corp. to relocate the Jacuzzi headquarters into 30,813 sf at the Shoppes at Chino Hills. The six-year office lease is one of the largest ever signed in the Chino Valley.

The Jacuzzi headquarters will sit atop retail shops. It will include a luxury showroom, a private entry, operable windows, a balcony overlooking the Chino Valley and immediate access to more than 70 retailers.

Besides the 400,000-sf regional center and the 60,000 sf of office space built over retail where Jacuzzi is leasing space for its headquarters, the 750,000-sf master plan calls for 250 units of housing, a new civic center, a community library and a police station. The overall concept of the master plan is to create a downtown that includes outdoor shopping along landscaped streets, allowing parking adjacent to stores. One component of the site will be designed as a pedestrian-only promenade with shaded seating areas and fountains.
