According to David Saeta, a senior vice president with IDS, therenovation project was a response to the ongoing expansion ofprofessional and retail amenities within Pasadena's South LakeAvenue Business District. The Los Angeles-based company acquiredthe 80 S. Lake Ave. building in the fall of 2005.

The $2.8 million IDS project included the restoration andupgrade of the mid-century building to class A standards viarenovations to the exterior, the parking structure, the buildinglobby, exterior landscaping and upgrades to common areas andrestrooms. IDS project manager Patrick Foudy says that the overallgoal of the renovation and restoration was to improve the qualityof 80 S. Lake to a level commensurate with its class A location.IDS completed its work ahead of a South Lake Avenue BusinessDistrict's streetscape upgrade that is anticipated to commence byyear-end.

IDS worked with several local design firms on the project. WirtDesign of Los Angeles was the design architect, SKA Design ofPasadena was the signage designer and LRM Landscape Architecture ofCulver City, CA designed the landscape plan. Jaska Building Systemsof Ontario, CA was the general contractor.
