Dallas-based Starplex Operating LP expects to close on a sitethis week and immediately begin construction of a 12-screenStarplex Cinemas theater. Purchase of the site for a 100-unitHampton Inn is also nearing completion, according toWilson-Stonaker manager Bill Stonaker, who tells GlobeSt.com thehotel deal awaits only the promised city stamp of approval.

Stonaker says a deal with a major anchor for the overall projectis also near completion. Though he is not free to divulge the nameof the anchor, he does say the deal hinges on a request to rezone45 acres of the site currently designated for residential use.Local news sources have revealed that Texas Health Resources ofArlington, TX is negotiating to build a $100 million HarrisMethodist hospital in the project.

Stonaker adds he is also in discussion with several additionalretail tenants, including a major sporting goods retailer that isnew to the submarket. "We're working on a bunch of deals," he says."We've got some big box guys that are looking. We're right on theborder with Fort Worth, just off Jacksboro Highway, which is anexcellent location." The property is across Quebec Street from theLandmark Lakes Center, a 24-acre Lowes-anchored retail complex alsodeveloped and owned by Wilson-Stonaker. Other tenants include BestBuy, Verizon, Buffalo Wild Wings and 24 Hour Fitness.
