Genovese says that his role in the new post will be to continue to foster strong client and broker-dealer relationships and build elements of the business including sales support, unmatched educational workshops and marketing. In his previous post, Genovese was responsible for raising capital for REIT, LLC and 1031 TIC offerings. Before joining Grubb & Ellis, Genovese held sales, marketing, and management positions at Bear Stearns & Co., Cowen & Co. and Wells Real Estate Funds.
Other execs named in recent months at Thompson National include Jack Maurer, co-founder of Triple Net Properties LLC in 1998, who joined Thompson as a partner, vice chairman and founding member. Former Lehman Bros. managing director Mark Osgood joined as managing director and president of Thompson National Properties' Debt Fund, and former Grubb & Ellis Co. exec Darrell L. Betts joined as chief investment officer as well as president of the Irvine, CA-based company's Middle East Fund.
Thompson National Properties specializes in value-added investments and asset management for high-net-worth domestic, foreign and institutional investors. The firm recently closed on its first deals with the acquisition of two office properties in Dallas.
