The new medical clinic will provide a center for treating veterans located in North San Diego County. The Rockefeller Group intends to “move this project along swiftly so that it will be up and running as soon as possible,” says Tom McCormick, senior vice president of development for Rockefeller Group Development Corp.

The two-story building will be constructed on three lots at the west end of Seagate Corporate Center. John Buckel of Capital Partners Development Co. will serve as the project development manager, with construction scheduled to begin during the fourth quarter of 2008 and be completed in the third quarter of 2010.

The Veterans Administration was represented by Carpenter/Robbins Commercial Real Estate Inc. in the transaction that led to the Rockefeller Group assignment. Leasing agents for the Seagate Corporate Center are Ron King and David Onosko, senior vice presidents with Coldwell Banker Commercial Almar Group ONCOR International.

According to King, Seagate Corporate Center was chosen for the build-to-suit clinic in large part for its location. He points out that the location is close to Camp Pendleton, allowing easy access for the Marines who have suffered a large number of the casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan.
