"It's an opportunity for me to leverage my relationships in thebrokerage community and further my interests in development,"Holman tells GlobeSt.com. His duties include leasing oversight forPhoenix-based Opus West's 2.5-million-sf portfolio in Dallas/FortWorth. In addition, he will working on a full punch list ofdevelopment-related needs, including site acquisition and designand construction oversight.

Holman says talks with Opus West went full circle in less thansix weeks, starting during a 500,000-sf lease negotiation forParis-based Alcatel-Lucent, which he and CBRE executive vicepresident Dave Anderson had worked out with the developer's localteam. "I think that was the entree to start the discussion," hesays, citing the high level of professionalism that existed on bothsides of the deal-making as the catalyst. "Sometimes when youaren't looking, the best things can happen."

Holman will be working side-by-side with Steve Chilton, seniordirector of real estate development; Geoff Meyer, director of realestate; and Tom Kier, senior director of retail development. And,Holman stresses, his long-time and deep-running brokerage ties willmake him "a resource" for them.
