With some $1.5 billion in private sector investment made in NoMaover the last year or so, the District has been increasinglyplowing budget dollars into the submarket's improvement, NoMA BIDpresident Liz Price tells GlobeSt.com. For instance, it is makingmajor upgrades to the intersection of New York and Florida avenues,a critical intersection in NoMA. Chieco "will serve as liaisonbetween the public agencies and BID members to better coordinatethese projects," Price says. Chieco was manager of CommunityOutreach at the Urban Land Institute prior to her move to NoMABID.

NoMA BID has also elected five new members to its Board ofDirectors to serve three-year terms at its second annual meeting.They are Bob Elliott of JBG; Jim Evans of Tishman Speyer; JohnGordon of Polinger, Shannon & Luchs; Dennis Paul of Paul'sWholesale Florist Co.; and Fred Rothmeijer of MRP.
