Walsh, 61, the managing partner of Broad Street Partners, wasinvolved in a $250-million mixed-use project called TraditionTowers in Downtown Orlando. Plans for the 39-story twin-buildingproject near Lake Eola include luxury residential condominiums,office and retail space, a full-service hotel and the new home ofthe city's University Club.

Other of Walsh's local projects have run into trouble in recentyears, such as the four-story Carlisle condo development in WinterPark, which succumbed to local opposition, and the $200-millionOveido on the Park town center, which was halted by financing andpermitting problems.

Orlando media reports stated that Walsh's home on Genius Drivehad been ransacked and a crime scene technician was seen carryingout a long-barrel gun. The Florida Department of Law Enforcementwas called in to assist the local police, though that is standardprocedure in death investigations.
