The company renewed its automotive division headquarters leaseat 39001 W. 12 Mile Rd. in Farmington Hills for 10 years. Thecompany also signed a 10-year lease for 51,000-sf in the LaSalleTechnology Centre South building, at 28845 Cabot Dr. in Novi, for anew engineering center, where it will invest $10 million. Finally,Harman is also leasing 6,000 sf for a short term at CabotTechnology Centre, at 28700 Cabot Dr. Chris Secontine, withSignature Associates, represented the tenant in the leases.

With the leases, the firm is consolidating design anddevelopment operations for automotive audio systems, and movingsome work into Michigan from other states. In return, the state andcity have agreed to a $2.5 million tax credit over seven years, anexpedited review and inspection process and funding toward publicinfrastructure improvements.

Northern Equities Group, based here, is the owner of thebuildings. Matt Sosin, president of the firm, says the HaggertyCorridor has had positive absorption with continual leases. "Wejust got site plan approval for a new building at the corporatepark," Sosin tells GlobeSt.com. "The Mckenzie Technology Centerwill be 50,000 sf. We'll be starting that building either this yearor spring of next year, we're still waiting on a building permit."He says it will be a speculative building, but that the companyalready has four proposals that would fill the facility.
