We came across this fun surveyrecently that we thought you'd might enjoy.A research firm askedshoppers at five chains, Wal-Mart, Kohl's, JCPenney, Macy's andTarget, who they would choose for president. The strongestsentiment for a candidate was pushed by Macy's consumers, 47.2% whosaid they are voting for Barack Obama.Says a Macy'sspokesman in this article about the survey, "From my uneducatedviewpoint, our stores tend to be concentrated in larger urbanareas. I have read those are areas that have a stronger preferencefor Sen. Obama."Just over 34% of the shoppers at Macy's preferredJohn McCain, while 16% were undecided.Here are the winners at therest of the chains: The second-highest favorite, at 43.8%, camefrom Kohl's shoppers, boosting McCain. Most customers at JCPenney(42.8%) and Wal-Mart (41.4%) were also supporters of theRepublican. Most consumers at Target, 41.5%, preferred Obama.Sowhat does this tell us, if anything?
