TAMPA, FL-Atwell-Hicks LLC, a Michigan-based land developmentconsulting firm, has expanded its regional presence by merging withlocally based civil engineering firm Hills & Associates Inc. Inturn, Atwell-Hicks will move into the company's building. Financialdetails of the deal were not disclosed.

"We thought this was a great way to join forces," Brian Wenzel,Atwell-Hicks CEO, tells GlobeSt.com. "It's a great opportunity witha series of great people."

The combined firm will have approximately 40 employees at Hills& Associates' two-story, 40,000-sf office building, whichopened last year at 4610 Eisenhower Blvd., near Tampa InternationalAirport. Atwell-Hicks has been leasing its offices at 4805Independence Parkway since establishing operations in Tampa in2005.

Wenzel says Hills & Associates, led by local commercial realestate industry veterans Jeff Hills and Dave Bartz, brings a newcivil engineering component to Atwell-Hicks, which serves bothcommercial real estate and energy markets nationwide. Atwell-Hickshas 15 offices around the country, opening a new location inOrlando earlier this summer along with others in Nashville, TN, andBentonville, AR.
