The developer is scheduling a 2012 completion for the centerwhen it will be put under the City of Incheon's control. It is partof the 1.2-million-sf IFEZ (Incheon Free Economic Zone) ArtsCenter, which will house condos, retail space, hotels and a medicalcenter.
Lastmonth Gale and partner Posco E&C completed the firststructure at Songdo, the 300,000-sf first phase of the ConvensiAConvention Center. Like the Cultural Center, it will be handed overto the City of Incheon after completion.
The Sondgo development's total cost is estimated at $35 billion,with a total build out of 100 million sf. Developers expect thearea to have 65,000 residents when it is finished.
