DALLAS-The global financial meltdown is translating into aneconomic boon for experienced operations-type professionals, whoare in far more demand than transactions-related peers. As thecritical mass builds, workout specialists conceivably could bewriting their own tickets after being let go by financialinstitutions.

"The quicker a bailout is in place, it will create a lot ofactivity and create a lot of jobs," says Rick Gillham, founder ofan executive commercial real estate search firm, Gillham, Golbeck& Associates Inc. in Dallas. He says there is an undercurrentbuilding for workout specialists, but so far the musical chairs hasbeen focused on operations' professionals with years of experience,particularly in Dallas/Fort Worth. Corporate solutions pros havebeen in particularly high demand too.
