Jovica Jakovac, managing director with Colliers International Serbia, tells GlobeSt.com that the location is what will make this property a winner. "It's perfectly between Belgrade and Novi Sad, with about three million people in a half-hour drive each way. This city is one of the fastest growing in all of Europe."

The retail will be on two levels of the building, and will include international anchors, as well as local shops, Jakovic says. There will also be a market and restaurants. The retail floors will open by spring, he says. Jakovic says there's letters of intent signed, but declined to name tenants.

The apartments will range from 400 sf to 2,150 sf, he says, and the leasing of these will start by mid-next year. "The office is in pretty high demand, this is a big industrial zone," Jakovic says. An underground parking garage will have 270 spaces.

In a statement, Mayor Goran Jesic said this project is the biggest investment in the city. ˝Perhaps somebody thinks that 42,000 sm of business and office space is too much for Indjija at this moment,˝ Jesic said in a previous statement. ˝Perhaps somebody thinks that Indjija is not the town in which 30 million euros should be invested in a block of buildings such as this one. However, when one of the biggest construction firms…comes to Indjija then you can be certain about the future of this town.˝
