This will be Minneapolis-based Room & Board's firstSoutheast store, with an expected opening in spring 2009. Thethree-story structure, located at 14th Street and Howell Mill Road,is actually a 1910-era meat-packing building.

Michael Phillips, partner at White Provision developmentcompany, says the retailer was drawn in by the uniqueness of thespace and the location, which has long been an "insiders homefurnishings district. There is an authenticity in the architectureand co-tenancy here, creating an opportunity for Room & Board,"he says.

The remainder of the mixed-use development includes 80,000 sf ofretail, 70,000 sf of office and 98 condo units to be finished inMarch. An adjacent 120,000 sf of tenanted retail is part of theWestside Provisions District, says Phillips.
