The layoffs are small compared to the firm's national reach, which is made up of about 6,500 employees. The spokesman also says that the layoffs are not significant when spread across Cushman's US offices.
In Chicago, where the Crain's report was generated, there were 20 layoffs, including broker John Simon and the land sales group, which is headed by Peter Block. Simon says that the group will stay together and form its own practice.
