Hunter Jaggard, son of Vantage Cos.' Steve Jaggard, startedyesterday as a senior associate. The younger Jaggard was a landbroker for McDade, Smith, Gould, Johnston, Mason + Co. in Houston, where he picked up additional industry grooming from principal BillMcDade.

Daniel Herrold, regional director for Stan Johnson Co., saysJaggard has "a very similar approach and style to the way he doesbusiness as we do ours." And, he adds that Jaggard's training as aland broker is 50% of the equation for calculating retail deals. Now, Herrold's mission is to acquaint Jaggard to Stan Johnson Co.'splatform and be a retail mentor.

With Jaggard on board, Herrold says he also will have time tobuild a book of business in tandem with building the team at 10777Westheimer Rd. The plan is to get two lead brokers and twoassociates in place by the end of 2009, then bring on two each yearuntil the shop hits 15 to 20 producers. "We do have some candidatesat various steps of negotiations that could translate to a hire,"Herrold says.

Herrold says Houston and Texas at large are primed for StanJohnson Co.'s net-lease specialty. He's tracked $900 million ofnet-lease offerings statewide since July 1, with $280 millionpositioned just in Houston. In addition, 52% of the listings werefrom out-of-state brokers. "That just confirms for me there is alot of opportunity in Texas that we can capture," he says. "And,that's where we're going to start."
