The buildings, called Avion Midrise III and IV, are located at14550 and 14560 Avion Pkwy respectively. The three-story propertiestotaling 143,011 square feet are occupied by the federal governmentand defense contractor Lockheed Martin Corp.

Developed in 2002-2003, the buildings can accommodate bothsingle-tenant and multi-tenant users. They are also accredited asSensitive Compartmented Information Facilities--which meetsspecific federal security requirements. This accreditation isexpensive to implement, which places the buildings at a competitiveadvantage in the Chantilly market, CBRE Realty Trust says.

These properties are the first in the DC area for the REIT, PhilKianka, COO of CBRE Realty Trust, tells GlobeSt.com. The company isin acquisition mode right now, targeting the entire US market aswell as select locations in Europe and the United Kingdom, hecontinues, adding it has already bought about $500 million ofproperties this year. Cuneo says the REIT would be interested inacquiring additional real estate in the area "if the price andproperty are right."
