The review is focused on one final piece of the retail andresidential development: permission to move the Salt RiverProject's electrical substation from the development site atScottsdale and Camelback Roads to a new location. The location at68th Street and Indian School Road is also owned by Madkour andpartners.

The new location needs to be rezoned, but Madkour toldGlobeSt.com in aprevious interview that obtaining zoning approval shouldn'tbe a problem. However, Scottsdale's city council requested that thereview, originally scheduled to take place on December 9, be pushedto January 27.

A spokesman for Madkour's local Scottsdale Canal Development LLCtells GlobeSt.com that the holdup involves a final contract to besigned between the City of Scottsdale and the developer. Theagreement involves, among other things, the status of twopedestrian bridges. There is nothing hindering the agreement, thespokesman says, and it should be finalized this week.
