SCOTTSDALE, AZ-Developer Mark Madkour has been working for more than two-and-a-half years to get his mixed-use, $600 million Solis Scottsdale and Residential Resort off the ground. A request from Scottsdale’s city council to postpone a rezoning presentation until after the first of the year will extend that waiting period a bit longer.

The review is focused on one final piece of the retail and residential development: permission to move the Salt River Project’s electrical substation from the development site at Scottsdale and Camelback Roads to a new location. The location at 68th Street and Indian School Road is also owned by Madkour and partners.

The new location needs to be rezoned, but Madkour told in a previous interview that obtaining zoning approval shouldn’t be a problem. However, Scottsdale’s city council requested that the review, originally scheduled to take place on December 9, be pushed to January 27.
