The parties expect to complete the first four of the projects by 2012. Buildings are expected to range in size from 95,000 square feet to 125,000 square feet and will serve communities with populations in excess of 80,000 people. The facilities will include surgery centers, an emergency department, maternity care and other services.

Teaming up with Hammes on the management of the facilities will be Health Inventures, a Boulder, CO-based firm of which Hammes CEO and chairman Jon Hammes is a majority shareholder. That firm currently manages 40 healthcare locations across the US.

Hammes Co. has developed, owns and manages healthcare facilities across the country. Earlier this year, it was hired by Elmhurst (IL) Memorial Healthcare to manage the development of the one-million-square-foot, four-building new campus of that organization, which is set for a 2011 completion.
