Benn Bannatyne, regional director for ProLogis in Central and Eastern Europe, explains in a statement that companies of Tesco's ilk "continue to establish supply chain operations in Slovakia because of its strategic location within central and eastern Europe, low cost of labor and expanding transportation infrastructure."

The Galanta-Gan park is partially complete with two buildings already operating with a total of 1.7 million square feet. The building Tesco plans to move into is estimated to top out sometime in the Q4 of this year.

Tesco has a history with ProLogis, holding 700,000 square feet in the same distribution park and leasing 375,000 square feet at ProLogis Park Bratislava. The terms and price of the leases have not been disclosed. Prologis did not respond to GlobeSt.com inquiries by deadline.
