For the past 13 years, Dowd was executive vice president and CFO at Cushman & Wakefield, where he spent 30 years working various positions. In 2002, Dowd was recipient of Cushman's George E. Lees award, naming him employee of the year.
In a prepared release, Silverstein Properties' Larry Silverstein says, "[Dowd] comes to us with a wealth of experience in real estate and a sterling reputation built on 30 years of accomplishment."
In the same release, Dowd says "I am honored to join Silverstein properties and am looking forward to helping Larry Silverstein and his first rate team as they forge ahead with their important work, despite the difficulties inherent in current economic conditions and a challenging real estate marketplace." He added that Silverstein Properties is well positioned to continue its growth strategy.
