GSA will be receiving $5.5 billion under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act. The federal agency has 45 days, under the bill, to submit a comprehensive project list. The bill passed in mid-February. In broad terms, the Act directs $750 million of the $5.5 billion to renovate and construct federal buildings and courthouses; $300 million to renovate and construct land ports of entry; and $4.5 billion to convert federal buildings to high-performance green buildings.
Guerin is currently assistant commissioner for Construction for GSA's Public Buildings Service, where he is responsible for GSA's more than $1-billion per year capital investment program. This program focuses on the design and construction of federal buildings, land ports of entry, courthouses and other construction projects for the nation's landlord.
