The new hotel is being built at the corner of Smith and Merriman Roads. It will stand six stories tall and total 78,904 square feet. The 126-key asset will also house a pool, spa and conference room, according to company officials.
Construction is slated to be complete by February 2010.
The hotel will include sound-proof windows in order to block out the sound of air traffic due to the close proximity of the Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
J.S. Vig is no stranger to the hotel market in Romulus. The firm completed a complete overhaul renovation and addition to the Embassy Hotels and Suites here in January 2008.
Since its inception in 1965, the Michigan-based construction company has completed roughly 1,500 medical, industrial, municipal, office and commercial projects.
