Groundbreaking for the CVS pharmacy is scheduled for this month. The project is rising at the site of the former Unilever research and development campus at 45 River Rd. Already under construction at the property is the new Edgewater Borough Hall.Levin Management Corp. is the exclusive leasing agent for the project, which is situated along Hudson County's Gold Coast.
"Edgewater Square is prime real estate," says Matthew K. Harding, president of Levin Management in a statement. "The market area already has attracted many of the best names in retail, including Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Banana Republic, Guess, Victoria's Secret, Barnes & Noble and many others."
According to Harding, the borough includes 5,864 households with an average income of $117,719 in the immediate area, giving this project a strong built-in customer base.CVS Caremark has more than 6,900 stores in the US. The Edgewater store will feature a drive-through pharmacy window, digital photo processing as well as health, beauty and general merchandise. Edgewater Square will be designed using a Main Street layout with a 1,900-foot walk along the Hudson River.
