"Both Scott and Mark have increased responsibilities for acquisitions, financing activities, asset management, and investor relations," Peter Borzak, Pine Tree principal, says. "In their years here, they've shown a tremendous amount of knowledge about our investment and service platform." The firm's work focuses on the acquisition, ownership and disposition of real estate assets.
Goldman was last promoted to VP of acquisitions in 2005, after joining the firm as manager of acquisitions five years ago. Previous to joining Pine Tree, he worked in acquisitions at a Chicago-based real estate investment fund and in banking with The Northern Trust Co., also in Chicago. He has his bachelor of science in finance from Indiana University, and now oversees Pine Tree's national acquisition efforts.
Waligora has been responsible for sourcing, negotiating and executing due diligence for retail acquisition opportunities since joining the firm, and his new position adds work within asset management and investor relations. Also graduating from Indiana University with a bachelor of science in finance, Waligora started his career as an analyst at Inverness, IL-based investment bank Hovde Financial. He later worked as a real estate valuation consultant at Duff & Phelps in Chicago before coming to Pine Tree about three years ago.
