The 194-key hotel, situated at 6401 South 13th St., just two miles from the airport, is owned by Amana Hospitality LLC and will be managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts.

"This hotel offers exceptional meeting and banquet space to cater to guests visiting the property for small- to medium-sized events," says Gina LaBarre VP of brand management for Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts. "The location of the hotel is convenient for business travelers arriving at the airport as well as leisure guests visiting Milwaukee attractions like the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee County Zoo and Raymond Heights Golf Center."

Hotel amenities include a fitness center, airport shuttle, restaurant, lounge and 24,000 square feet of meeting space, which includes a 150-seat amphitheater.

The Crowne Plaza is the second hotel to open near the airport this year. In March, as GlobeSt.com reported, the Staybridge Suites Milwaukee Airport South, at 9575 S. 27th St., opened seven miles from the airport. This hotel was one of three Staybridge Suites planned for the Milwaukee area.

In June IHG opened the second Staybridge Suites in Oconomowoc on the Pabst Farm. The final hotel, to be located downtown will begin to see it's first guests by the end of the year.
