Emdeon, a healthcare payment processor that went public earlier this year, plans to move its data center from its former corporate headquarters at One Century Place, where its current lease is set to expire at the end of 2010. The company last year consolidated its operations at Donelson Corporate Center from five different locations in the Nashville area.
Joel McAlister, a vice president and principal with Colliers TMT's Nashville office, represented Emdeon in lease negotiations with Airpark Center East's owner, Solomon Airpark LLC. McAlister also represented Solomon Builders in the original $1.2-million purchase of 21 acres just east of Nashville International Airport for the business park.
Solomon will use approximately six acres for the build-to-suit Emdeon data center, which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2010. The new center is intended to increase efficiency and security while supporting Emdeon's projected growth.
