"Cambria is differentiating itself with larger suites and a few more appointments," comments Eric M. Larson, vice president of business development with project contractor A.R. Mays Construction in Scottsdale, AZ. "The guests will find a little more technology than they might in some of the other select-service hotels, and a little more space."

The hotel is at the corner of Chandler Boulevard and Dobson Road, near Sky Harbor International Airport and in an office area. The project architect is Rodriguez & Associates, located in Kansas City, MO.

Larson tells GlobeSt.com that the developer is envisioning more Cambria Suites developments in the area. Though groundbreaking of new hotels will depend on the economy, Larson says the southwest valley, west valley and Scottsdale have been identified as Cambria markets.

In the meantime, Larson says the fact the developer was able to obtain financing from a bank for the project offers a ray of hope in a stalled economy. "The factor that this property was well-located and the developer is a strong one with a good track record allowed them to put a loan in place," he says.
