"They were the last tenant in the space; they moved out in February 2008," explains owner representative Corey Hawley with CB Richard Ellis' Phoenix office. He tells GlobeSt.com that when University of Phoenix needed space for a different use, it opted to take the entire building leased previously in the two-building complex at 1616 W. 17th St.
Hawley, who partnered with CBRE Jim Fijan and Jerry Roberts on behalf of the Coconut Grove, FL-based Greenstreet, says University of Phoenix will use the space for a call center. Rick Lee with Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate in Phoenix provided tenant representation.
Both buildings were constructed in 1979 and have undergone renovation including landscaping, a new parking lot and some repainting. The quoted lease rate is $14 per square foot, triple net.
Hawley tells GlobeSt.com other building is 70% leased to IKON Office Solutions, and there are 30,600 square feet remaining. "There's been some activity in the back office arena, for call center type of space, and we've been showing this to a lot of tenants," he adds. "We're optimistic we'll have it leased up."
