Gill describes the South Bay region, which he has specialized inthroughout his career, as one of the most significant submarkets inSouthern California. He notes that the submarket includes the twomajor ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach as well as Los AngelesInternational Airport and "is one of the most vibrant and robustmarkets, even in the current economy," with a slight uptick insales and leasing in the third quarter.

In addition to his previous position with Charles Dunn Co., Gillwas president of Newmark & Co. and spent 30 years withMatlow-Kennedy Commercial Real Estate, where he last served aschairman and CEO. Some of the brokers joining the Lee team includeJeff Coburn and Shaun McCullough, both office and industrial marketexperts coming in as senior vice presidents and principals; BrandonCarrillo, Josh Reilly, Garrett Massaro and Barbara Goldsmith--allof them formerly with Dunn. Jerry Evans, the past president of theSouth Bay office of Lee, remains a principal and is now a seniorvice president.

The opening of the Long Beach office is a continuation of Lee'slong-term plans to "expand our footprint in all the meaningfulsubmarkets throughout the US," according to Edward Indvik, chairmanof the Lee advisory board and vice chairman of Lee &Associates' investment services group. Lee & Associates nowoperates 40 offices across the country, including recently addedlocations in Boise, New Jersey, and Chicago.
