According to a report in the Kansas City Business Journal, Kohl's will open a 64,250-square-foot facility becoming one of the 850,000-square-foot shopping center's anchor tenants.
A 184,000-square-foot WalMart Supercenter has already opened as an anchor on the site. Additionally a 45,000-square-foot Best Buy store is open. The Plaza is being developed by locally-based Block & Co. Inc. Realtors and Chicago-based First National Development.
David Black and Becky Goodman, of Block & Co., brokered the deal. The sale terms were not released.
As GlobeSt.com reported earlier in the year, Kohl's broadened its expansion plan after positive third quarter numbers. Initially the company had planned to open 20 new stores and remodel 65 locations, but increased the total number of new stores to 30, with additional openings a possibility based on Holiday sales numbers.
