As of Jan. 1, 2010, four attorneys will join as partners, two asspecial counsel and one as an associate. "The addition of theCassidy Shimko attorneys will dramatically increase Sedgwick'sability to handle real estate and land use litigation, andtransactional work," says Sedgwick's commercial division chairSteven Roland. "The creation of Sedgwick's now state-wide land usepractice will also provide a bridge between the existing realestate, environmental and construction practices of the firm."

Partner Stephen Cassidy's practice focuses on real estate andland use law, including development, finance, transactions andleasing, entity formation, and environmental law. Cassidy isclosely involved with both the legal and real estate businesscommunities having served in a variety of leadership roles with theCalifornia State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, andthe International Council of Shopping Centers.

Partner Anna Shimko focuses her practice on all areas of landuse and environmental law, representing both public agencies andprivate landowners and developers in administrative and courtproceedings. Shimko also has particular expertise in compliancewith the California Environmental Quality Act.
