"We chose Poland because of its excellent economic performance,"said MIPIM Director Nadine Castagna. "It was recently described as'an island of growth in a crisis-ridden Europe' in the face of theglobal economic downturn, and is a rarity in the European Union,having achieved positive growth of 1.4% in 2009. We shall also becelebrating the loyalty of a country that has been a MIPIM attendeesince the beginning."

Polish exhibitors will be grouped in two display areas -promoting urban projects in conjunction with Euro 2012, andpromoting local and regional investment potential. This secondfocus will be promoted via an Agora, a 66 square meters area forconferences, project presentations, cocktail parties and otherevents organized by exhibitors from Poland, as well as nearbycentral and eastern Europe exhibitors. A program of events has beenorganized to spotlight Poland's investment potential; the City ofWarsaw will offer a Chopin piano recital at the Hotel Majestic, tomark the bicentenary of the Polish composer's birth.

Over 300 Polish professionals are expected at MIPIM 2010,including local authority exhibitors such as the municipalities ofGdansk, Krakow, Poznan and Warsaw, together with marquee companiessuch as the Polish Agency for Foreign Investment and Mayland, amajor commercial real estate developer.
