"Santos will have a lot to say about how public and private entities are working together in the District to get projects moving and about development in the District in general for the year," Last says.
Fuller, who is director of the Center for Regional Analysis, will be discussing the impact the national economy and federal spending is expected to have on the DC-area economy this year. Specifically, "he will have an interesting perspective about what the stimulus is doing for real estate," Last says.
Both Fuller and Santos tend to be selective about the industry events in which they participate, which makes their input at RealShare this year all the more valuable to attendees, Last adds. RealShare is expecting 500 attendees this year.
Other speakers at the conference include Bruce Baschuk, chairman of J Street Cos., Thomas Galli, shareholder at Greenberg Taurig LLP, Rich Brown, the FDIC's chief economist and Tim Kruse, senior capital markets specialist at the FDIC. Galli, Brown and Kruse will be part of a panel discussing FDIC's asset disposition program.
Other panelists include Jair Lynch, president & CEO of Jair Lynch Development Partners and CBRE's Spencer Levy. More names will be announced shortly, Last says. The conference will be held at the Grand Hyatt Washington in DC.
