Hackensack, which is 4.6 square miles and an inner-ring suburbof New York City, boasts a population of more than 79,000 and anaverage household income of more than $71,000 within a two-mileradius. The daytime population typically triples due to the city'sdesignation as the seat of Bergen County and heightened demand foran array of goods and services. Retail is ranked fourth among thelocal industries behind education, health and social services;manufacturing; and professional, scientific, administrative andmanagement services.
