DEERFIELD, IL-Walgreen Co. plans to purchase the pharmacy business and 25 Snyder’s Drug Stores from the Minnesota-based company. A purchase price was not given for the acquisition.

“Our pharmacy staffs will be ready to make the transition as seamless as possible for Snyder’s patients. We look forward to continuing Snyder’s tradition of quality pharmacy service in communities around Minnesota,” says Walgreens Minnesota market vice president Jeff Bruneteau, in a statement.

Walgreens plans to continue operating a number of the locations, utilizing previous Snyder’s employees. Some of the stores will be shuttered with the prescription files being transferred to a local Walgreens pharmacy.
