The building, which sits at 301 E. Fourth St., stands 563 feet tall, more than 60 feet taller than the PNC Tower. Once a 400-ton tiara gets added to the facility, it will stand 665 feet; 90 feet above the Carew Tower, the city's tallest building.
Work first began on the building in January 2009. Eagle Realty Group is developing the project. Turner Construction Co. is the construction manager, while Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum is the architect. When complete it will contain 11 floors of parking, 33-floors of office space totaling 800,000 square feet, as well as some retail space.
According to reports, the building is already 80% leased. The Great American Insurance Group is taking roughly 66% of the space. The local law firm Frost Brown Todd has taken 100,000 square feet.
It is expected to open in the first quarter of 2011.
