The deals total 85,000 square feet and arelikely to lead toadditional retail as these tenants move in, DavidZapponi,development director of Madison Marquette, tellsGlobeSt.com."Charles County has outpaced growth compared to othercounties inMaryland. We are capitalizing on that and actuallyseeing moreinterest from retailers," he says.

The tenants include Christmas Tree Shops, which has inked35,000square feet at the Waldorf location--the retailer's first intheDC metro area. Another tenant is hhgregg, with32,000 squarefeet. Scheduled to open in summer 2010, it will be the firstMaryland location for the online electronics and appliancessupplier. Massage Envy, SportsClip and Salon Plaza have also signeddeals.

Other tenants in the mall include DollarGeneral, which recentlyexpanded and now occupies 12,000 square feet,and Men's Wearhouse,which also joined the center in spring 2009.
