At its 137 Anthropologie units, same-store sales rose 10%, whileUrban Outfitters, with 155 locations, recorded flat results. Thesmaller Free People division, with 34 units, posted a 11%increase.

The fourth quarter was an improvement over the year's averagecomparable-store sales results, when they fell 3% across all threechains. During the year, Urban opened 13 of its eponymous stores,16 Anthropologies and four Free People locations.

Urban's fourth-quarter sales results follow a strong holidayseason, when total sales reached $452 million in November andDecember, a 16% improvement from the same period in 2008.Same-store sales increased 5% over the holidays.
